I love guacamole and it is such a healthy superfood. I love it with chips, tacos, fajitas, burgers, sandwiches, and more. However, you can have good guacamole and not-so-good guacamole. I have purchased some that taste like it was manufactured in a plant instead of using real avocados! This is my favorite guacamole recipe, Avocado Salsamole it is a recipe I adapted from the book “You on a Diet“. Easy to Make with Just a Few Ingredients
You will want to start with ripe avocados. When testing your avocados at the grocery store the ripe ones will be dark brown, or almost black. Squeeze the avocado if it is soft but not mushy it is the perfect ripeness. Grab a few other ingredients a red onion, tomato, fresh jalapeno, lime juice, cider vinegar, minced garlic, and salt and you are ready to make this amazing guacamole recipe.
In just a few minutes your tastebuds will be delighted. Combine all the ingredients and with a form mash the avocado until you have your desired texture. If you are like me and prefer a little heat in your food then add extra jalapenos.
Avocado Salsamole Recipe
Ingredients
- ¼ cup red onion finely chopped
- 1 tsp jalapeno minced
- 1 Tbsp lime juice
- 1 Tbsp cider vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic minced
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 each tomato as much as desired
- 2 each avocado peeled and pitted
Instructions
- Combine onion, jalapeno, lime juice, vinegar, garlic, tomato, and salt in a bowl.
- Add avocado.
- With a fork mash avocado and mix all ingredients thoroughly.
- Reserve avocado pit to add to mixture to prevent browning when refrigerated.
