If you are looking for a WOPET automatic pet feeder review, this feeder has worked well in our home for both a dog and a cat. It helped us keep feeding times consistent, manage portions, and avoid worrying about whether a pet had been fed on time.
I first purchased the WOPET automatic pet feeder for my son and his dog when he was moving out of our home. Since I had always handled the feeding, I wanted an easy way to keep his dog on a regular schedule. A few months later, I bought one for our cat to help manage her portions, and it has become one of those pet products we still use regularly.
Benefits of an Automatic Pet Feeder
An automatic pet feeder can make daily feeding easier by helping keep pets on a consistent schedule and controlling how much food is served at each meal. For us, the WOPET automatic pet feeder was helpful in two different ways: making sure our dog was fed on time and helping our cat with portion control.
Feeding Pets While You Are Away
An automatic pet feeder should not replace regular care when you are away from home, but it can make feeding more consistent. If you have someone house-sitting or stopping by to check on your pets, the WOPET automatic pet feeder can still serve meals at the times you choose.
This is helpful when a pet sitter’s schedule does not line up with your pet’s normal feeding time. Instead of relying on someone to be there at an exact time, the feeder handles the scheduled meal while your sitter can focus on checking in, refreshing water, and giving your pet attention.
Helping With Portion Control
One of the biggest reasons I purchased a WOPET automatic pet feeder for our home was to help manage our cat’s portions. At one of her vet visits, Stevie weighed 12 pounds. That may not sound like much, but she is a small cat, and her ideal weight was closer to 9 pounds.
Before using the feeder, we had been leaving a bowl of food out and letting her eat when she wanted. That was convenient, but it was not helping her weight. The automatic feeder made it easier to serve measured portions at set times instead of leaving food out all day.

Since switching to the WOPET automatic pet feeder, Stevie usually stays between 9 and 10 pounds. For us, that made the feeder worth it because it helped create a routine we could stick with.
WOPET Automatic Pet Feeder Features
The WOPET automatic pet feeder has several features that make it useful for everyday feeding, especially if you want to control feeding times and portions from your phone.
App Controlled
One of the most helpful features is the ability to control the feeder through the app. You can set feeding times, choose how many portions are dispensed at each meal, and adjust the schedule when needed.
This has been especially helpful when my son is away on business and I am helping care for his dog and three cats. Instead of guessing whether the pets have been fed, the app gives us a way to manage the schedule more easily.
The app allows up to 15 feedings a day, which gives you a lot of flexibility. If you are using the feeder to help manage your pet’s weight, I recommend figuring out how many calories your pet needs each day and then measuring the food portions from there. The feeding recommendations on pet food bags can sometimes be more than your pet needs, especially for less active pets.

Notifications
The WOPET automatic pet feeder can send notifications if there is an issue dispensing food or if the food supply is getting low, as long as notifications are turned on for the app.
One thing to know is that it does not send a notification every time your pet is fed. However, the app does keep a feeding history, so you can check whether food was dispensed.
This has been useful for us because my son’s dog has tipped over the feeder and unplugged it before. I have had to call my son and let him know the feeder was unplugged, and he was able to check the app history to see if his dog had already been fed.
Voice Recorder
The WOPET feeder also has a voice recording feature, although we have never used it. According to WOPET, you can record a short message that plays when food is dispensed. For us, this feature was not necessary. Our pets quickly learned the sound of the food dropping and would come running if they were hungry.
Backup Power Supply
I did not realize the WOPET automatic pet feeder had a backup power option until my son’s dog tipped the feeder over and unplugged it from the bottom. While reconnecting it, I noticed the battery compartment.
The feeder uses 3 D batteries as a backup power supply. This is important if the feeder gets unplugged or loses power, because the batteries can help keep the feeding schedule running. The batteries are meant as a backup, not as the main power source. The WiFi connection and app features still require the power adapter.
Clean, Simple Design
I also like the look of the WOPET automatic pet feeder. It has a clean, simple design and comes in black or white, so you can choose the option that works better in your home. We both have the white version. At the time, it was the cheaper option, but it also works well in the rooms where we keep the feeders.
Other WOPET Pet Products
WOPET offers several smart pet products beyond the automatic pet feeder in this review. Their current product line includes automatic pet feeders, dual-bowl feeders for homes with more than one pet, pet water fountains, and treat cameras.
Since buying our original feeder, we also tried the WOPet Guardian Dog Treat Camera, which lets you check in on your pet and dispense treats while you are away. WOPET has also released newer feeder options, including the WOPet Automatic Pet Feeder F07 Pro, which is the upgraded version of the feeder we first used. I still think this original feeder is helpful, but the newer model does make a few improvements that are worth comparing before you buy.
I have not tried one of the WOPET water fountains yet, but it is one of the products I would consider in the future since we already use a pet fountain daily in our home.
Is the WOPET Automatic Pet Feeder Worth It?
The WOPET automatic pet feeder has been worth it for our home because it made feeding more consistent and helped us control portions without leaving food out all day. It worked well for my son’s dog, and it has also been helpful for our cat.
I like that the feeder can be controlled through the app, holds enough food for daily use, and gives us a feeding history to check when needed. The backup battery option is also helpful, especially if you have a pet that may knock into the feeder or unplug it.
It is not a product I would use as a replacement for pet care while traveling, but it does make feeding easier when someone is checking in on your pets or when your schedule changes. If you are looking for a WiFi automatic pet feeder for a dog or cat, the WOPET feeder is a practical option that has worked well for us.
If you are comparing WOPET products, I would also look at the newer WOPET Automatic Pet Feeder F07 Pro before deciding which model is the better fit for your home.
