As an indoor cat, Stevie is always looking for the perfect place to nap, relax, and quietly watch the world outside. When I bought the Zakkart cat window perch back in October 2022, I hoped it would give her a cozy little getaway from the dog we had at the time. Fast forward a few years, and it has become one of her favorite spots in the entire house.
Our perch is attached to the large sliding glass doors along the back of our home overlooking a canal. Between the palm trees swaying in the wind, birds visiting the pool area, ducks and baby ducks wandering by, and the occasional iguana showing up outside, Stevie always has something interesting to watch. People also walk along the canal to fish, so there is constant movement that keeps her entertained throughout the day.
More than anything, I think she enjoys having a quiet place that feels like her own little retreat away from the dogs.
Why This Window Perch Works So Well for Stevie
One thing that makes Stevie a little unique is that she does not have a tail. Because of that, she cannot jump quite as high or as confidently as some other cats. I intentionally placed the perch next to her cat tower so she could climb up the tower first and then easily hop into the window bed without struggling.
That setup worked perfectly for her, and she started using the perch surprisingly quickly after we installed it. She spends hours curled up in it, napping or watching everything happening outside the window.

If you have an indoor cat, especially one that enjoys bird watching or lounging in sunny windows, I can absolutely see why these perches are so popular. Indoor cats benefit from environmental enrichment and window views, and this perch naturally became part of Stevie’s daily routine.
Installation and Sturdiness
I will admit that I was nervous the first time we attached it to the window. Anytime suction cups are involved, there is always that small fear that everything is suddenly going to fall down in the middle of the night.
Thankfully, installation was actually very simple. Even more impressive, it has never once fallen off the window since we installed it in 2022. That honestly surprised me.
Now, Stevie is a fairly small cat at around 10 pounds, so I cannot personally speak to how it performs with much heavier cats. However, for her size, it has felt very secure and sturdy the entire time we have owned it.

What Stevie Loves Most About It
At this point, the perch is more than just another cat accessory in the house. It is one of Stevie’s favorite daily nap spots.
Some days she stretches out in the sunshine and sleeps for hours. Other times she sits upright watching ducks, birds, and people passing by along the canal. Since the perch is elevated and away from the dogs, I think it gives her a sense of calm and personal space that she really enjoys.
Honestly, I probably underestimated how important that little “me time” area would become for her.
Anything I Would Change?
I genuinely do not have many complaints about this window perch after owning it for several years.
If I had to pick one thing, I think it would be nice if there were even more fabric or color options available to better match different home décor styles.
Other than that, it has held up very well for us.

Final Thoughts
If you are looking for a cozy spot where your indoor cat can nap, bird watch, and enjoy the sunshine, I can absolutely see why so many cats love window perches like this one.
For Stevie, it turned into much more than just another pet product. It became her peaceful little lookout spot where she can relax, stay entertained, and enjoy the view outside every single day.
If your cat loves windows as much as Stevie does, this is one purchase I would happily make again.
