Recently we reviewed the WOPet Automatic Dog Feeder which we have been using for years to feed our animals both cats and dogs. WOPet reached out to me to let me know they were improving their already amazing product with a new pet feeder F07 Pro version. We were happy to give the new version a test drive and see the improvements.
WOPet Automatic Pet Feeder F07 Pro
Upon first glance, the feeders are very similar, with only some slight differences.
As you can see the original version is slightly taller than the pro version. Also, the shape of the tray has more of a square shape vs the rounded edges of the original version. These are just the aesthetic differences between the versions. The real difference between the original pet feeder and the pet feeder F07 pro version is in the maintenance of the product.
Ease of Removing the Tray
In the original pet feeder, the tray is held on by two clips on either side. You must push the clip on one side to remove the tray. For us this is a big difference as one of the clips on our pet feeder broke when trying to remove it. On my son’s feeder, the tray would no longer clip into the unit (I’m assuming both clips broke) and his dog would constantly dislodge the tray during the day. With the pro version, the clips are in the back of the unit so you simply push in the tray to get it to engage the clips. To remove the tray you slightly tilt the unit back so you can pull the tray out.
Ease of Removing the Food Bin
When needing to remove the food bin for cleaning in the original version you had to pick up the feeder and hold it against your chest so you could get a good grip on the bin and then pull. The pet feeder F07 pro version has a lock switch that you unlock and then simply lift the bin out of the feeder.
Cleaning the Pet Feeder F07 Pro
One of the biggest differences is how to clean the inside mechanisms of the pet feeder. In the original version, the motor/dispenser was covered with a white plastic casing that required you to unscrew the tiny screws to get do any type of deep cleaning. The pet feeder F07 pro version still has a plastic covering but includes instructions on how to easily twist off the cover to get to do your cleaning.
New WOPet App
With the pet feeder F07 Pro version WOPet launched a new app to navigate the features of the pet feeder. The app works very similar if not the same as the previous app but can now be found under the WOPet name in your specific app store. Conclusion
Overall these small differences make for a better product. It is nice to see a company improve on their product while maintaining the integrity of the product. The WOPet Automatic Pet Feeder F07 Pro is not an addition to their product line but an upgrade and replacement for the older version. The price point for this very helpful tool is the same as its predecessor which is currently $89.99. However, at the time of this article’s publishing, you can get this for the amazing price of $59.99 on Amazon.
