Glazed pumpkin raisin cookies on a plate with fall pumpkins, cinnamon sticks, raisins, and autumn leaves.

Glazed pumpkin raisin cookies are soft, warmly spiced fall cookies made with pumpkin, cinnamon, raisins, and a sweet pumpkin pie icing. They have that cozy homemade cookie flavor that feels perfect for Thanksgiving, Halloween, fall baking, or a simple weekend dessert. I love recipes like this because they make the whole house smell amazing, and my family always knows something good is coming out of the oven.

Pumpkin desserts are one of my favorite ways to make the season feel a little more special. These cookies are soft instead of crisp, with just enough sweetness from the raisins and glaze to make them feel like a treat without being too fussy. If you enjoy pumpkin recipes, you may also like my Pumpkin Pie Smoothie Recipe or this cozy Pumpkin French Toast Recipe for another fall-inspired favorite.

Why You’ll Love These Pumpkin Raisin Cookies

These cookies are the kind of dessert that feels homemade in the best possible way. The pumpkin keeps them soft, the cinnamon adds warm fall flavor, and the raisins give each bite a little extra sweetness. Then the pumpkin pie icing pulls everything together with a smooth, sweet finish.

I also like that this recipe makes enough cookies to share. It is great for a fall gathering, a Thanksgiving dessert tray, or just keeping a few extras on hand for an after-dinner treat. My family tends to grab these quickly, especially when they are still just a little warm from the oven.

A few reasons these cookies work so well:

  • Soft, cake-like texture
  • Cozy pumpkin and cinnamon flavor
  • Sweet raisins in every bite
  • Easy brown sugar glaze
  • Great for fall, Thanksgiving, or holiday baking

A Cozy Fall Cookie Recipe

There is something about pumpkin baking that instantly makes the kitchen feel warmer. Even before the cookies are done, the cinnamon and pumpkin scent starts to fill the house. It reminds me of those recipes that do not need to be fancy because the flavor and smell do all the work.

These glazed pumpkin raisin cookies are especially nice when you want something different from a basic chocolate chip cookie. They still feel familiar and family-friendly, but the pumpkin and glaze make them a little more seasonal. If you are planning a fall dessert table, they would pair nicely with my Apple Pie Cookies Recipe or Berry Apple Crumble.

Ingredients for Glazed Pumpkin Raisin Cookies

These cookies use simple baking staples with pumpkin, cinnamon, and raisins giving them their cozy fall flavor. The cookie itself is soft and lightly spiced, while the brown sugar glaze adds just enough sweetness on top.

For the pumpkin, use pure pumpkin instead of pumpkin pie filling.. Pumpkin pie filling already has sugar and spices added, which can change the flavor and sweetness of the cookies. Pure pumpkin keeps the recipe balanced and lets the cinnamon, raisins, and glaze stand out.

Tips for Soft Pumpkin Raisin Cookies

The key to these cookies is not overbaking them. Pumpkin cookies are naturally softer and more cake-like than some traditional cookies, so you want to pull them from the oven when they are set but still tender. They will continue to firm up a little as they cool.

The glaze is also best spread while the cookies are still warm. This helps it settle nicely over the tops and gives the cookies that sweet, finished look. I like to let them cool just enough so they are easy to handle, but not so much that the glaze sits too thickly on top.

A few helpful tips:

  • Measure the flour carefully so the cookies do not become dry.
  • Use pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling.
  • Let the cookies cool slightly before glazing.
  • Store them in a covered container to keep them soft.
  • Add chopped nuts if your family likes a little crunch.

How to Store Pumpkin Raisin Cookies

Once the glaze has set, store the cookies in an airtight container. Because these cookies are soft, I would separate layers with parchment paper if you are stacking them. This helps keep the glaze from sticking and makes them easier to grab later.

They are best enjoyed within a few days, but the soft texture holds up well when stored properly. If you are making them for a holiday or gathering, you can bake them earlier in the day and let the glaze set before serving. My family usually eats them quickly, so leftovers are never much of a problem.
