Imagine you have been tasked with discovering a long-lost painting. You arrive at an abandoned cabin with your team of treasure hunters. Little did you know you would be faced with hidden clues, locks, puzzles, and more before you could even begin to locate your treasure. Intrigued? We were definitely up for the task when my family and I ventured downtown to West Palm Beach Escape Rooms last week.
Have you ever experienced an escape room?
I’ve asked many friends and co-workers this question and while some have I am always surprised when someone tells me they are afraid. What exactly are they afraid of? Afraid of being locked in a room and the pressure of escaping is some answers I receive. Other times I am told they just don’t think they would know where to start, how will they know how to unearth and solve the clues?
As a seasoned escape room goer I am here to tell you there is nothing to be afraid of. That is with your normal “non-scary” room. You don’t feel locked in, or in a tight space at all, often you forget everything as you work at solving the clues. If you are worried about where to start I promise you, you will figure it out. The first time my family and I visited an escape room was over two years ago. It was my husband, my daughter who was 10 at the time, and my son who was 16. We found our way from clue to clue with no prior experience.
Now that we have been to several establishments over the years it does make it a little easier knowing what to look for. Colors, numbers, and letters, all seem to have their own meaning when visiting each room.
I will tell you that one of my FAVORITE escape rooms to visit is West Palm Beach Escape Rooms. They also happened to be the first experience my family and I had when we purchased a Groupon for “The Classroom”.
The Classroom
The last day of school in 1986, Mrs. Elvira Price went missing without a trace from her classroom where she taught 5th grade. The classroom has been closed since she vanished. Students have stated they can hear Mrs. Price’s voice coming from the walls. The principal boarded up the classroom so that no one would be able to go inside. Now you find yourself trapped in this classroom. What is certain, you have one hour to solve the classroom mystery or find yourself trapped in there forever.
Loving our first experience we ventured to a few other places in the area but “The Classroom” at West Palm Beach Escape Rooms remains my favorite. A few years back we also had the pleasure of banning together to help disarm a bomb!
The Bomb
You are trapped in a bunker, far below the earth in the desert. You and your team must travel through rooms to get to the ticking bomb while solving mazes, puzzles, ciphers, and most of all using logic! Once you make it to the room where the bomb is located, you will be under the pressure of the room filling with smoke, and the clock barreling down……………..Can you save the world and disarm the bomb OR are you going to blow up?
Are you excited? Are you ready to visit? Take it from us you definitely should. We visited West Palm Beach Escape Rooms last week and this time we were on a hunt for the lost painting in “The Study”.
The Study
When you arrive at the cabin, you find an abandoned home with unfinished experiments and paperwork leading you to a clock counting down to zero. Can your group of Escape Room Adventurists finding the lost prized painting? One hour is all that separates you from making history or being history!
Best Escape Room in West Palm Beach
West Palm Beach Escape Rooms remains one of my favorite escape room establishments. The clues are so creative. You really have to put on your thinking cap, but when you solve a clue you feel triumphant! There were five of us participating in our recent escape room adventure and I’m happy to say we escaped using only 1 clue, and with 16 minutes to spare.
What I love about the rooms at West Palm Beach Escape Rooms is that each room has a well-thought-out theme. The rooms are decorated well and with enough items so that the clues aren’t obvious yet they are not so far out of there you can’t figure them out. Each of us participated and figured out different clues so that each person felt like they contributed and helped us escape.
Escape rooms are great for family, a group of friends, a date night, a corporate event, and more! West Palm Beach Escape Rooms is in downtown West Palm Beach and they have recently opened another location in Coral Springs. If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit yet, or had the chance to experience an escape room we highly recommend you do. They will totally get you hooked!
