Lots’s going on at the Shibley household these days. Just recently my youngest son (age 21) and his girlfriend (who had been living with us since the pandemic really hit back in March 2020) found their own place and moved out. As a mother, this is a bittersweet time for me. My first child moved out of the home. I am very proud of the two of them for really saving up to do it right. I am very happy for them that they are starting a new journey. I am also sad that I won’t see or talk to my son every day, I won’t always know what is going on.
On the bright side, I have gained an extra room. My daughter moved into her brother’s room (as it was just a little bit bigger than her room). We decided to convert her old run into a workout room. I have been very excited about making this happen as it gives me the opportunity to work out at different times if I want without bothering anyone else, as my workout area has been the family room. I will post more about the room later, but I did want to share one new addition to the room.
37” HD Soundbar and Wireless Subwoofer
Who doesn’t love jamming to some music while they are working out? When I was asked if I wanted to review the 37” HD Sound Bar and Wireless Subwoofer from I Live I said yes with my workout room in mind.
This 2.1 channel-powered speaker system with a subwoofer is the perfect accessory for any room. Stream your music with Bluetooth, connect a TV, DVD player, video game system, MP3 player, or computer, and be blown away by the magnificent sound. The subwoofer packs a punch, delivering quality sound every time whether you use Bluetooth or the Aux-in. The included remote adds more convenience so you can relax and take control from the couch.
I’ve placed the soundbar on my windowsill, and though there is the option to mount it on the wall, there is a reason why I choose not to.
The subwoofer (which is my favorite part) is positioned on the other side of the room. So now to why I LOVE this soundbar and subwoofer. It is because it is Bluetooth and wireless. Yes, that means the soundbar and subwoofer do not have to be directly connected to the TV. I was able to connect the soundbar via Bluetooth, and then the subwoofer automatically connects to the soundbar. You of course have to have an outlet for each piece of equipment, no gaudy cables running to the TV.
So let’s talk about sounds, I’m going to share with you some sound recordings to help you get a clear idea of the difference between using the TV, using the TV with the soundbar, and using all three together.

Soundbar and Subwoofer
Doesn’t it sound so much better with the subwoofer, you can really hear the bass. I think my biggest problem now is going to be making sure my son doesn’t pump it up disrupting the whole house when he is working out.
Some of the features of the Soundbar and Subwoofer
SOUNDBAR:
- 37″ length
- Bluetooth wireless
- Bluetooth range: 60 feet
- Learning remote control capability
- Built-in stereo speakers
- Digital volume control
- Wall mountable
- Cloth speaker grill
- Remote
SUBWOOFER:
- Wireless subwoofer range: 33 feet
- Wooden subwoofer enclosure
Now, for the added bonus as to why I did not mount the soundbar. I have a second use for this easy-to-connect device. We have a TV mounted in the corner of our outdoor patio. When we are outside in the spring, summer, or fall (it is Florida we can spend a lot of time outside) we enjoy watching TV. However, the sound comes out of the TV in the corner of the room. So I thought to myself, how awesome would it be to be able to hook the soundbar to the outdoor television and have it sitting in the lounge area? No longer will we have to turn up the TV so everyone can hear it while enjoying the outdoors. Our sound will be right there where we are enjoying the outdoors whether we are sitting and relaxing or enjoying a dip in the pool.
Final Thoughts
So here are my final thoughts. The 37” HD Soundbar and Subwoofer is selling at a price point of $149.99 at the time of this article. This is WELL below the $1000+ we spent on surround sound in our family room. Now that said, the HD soundbar and subwoofer can’t compare to the quality of our surround sound, but the price and quality are perfect for a small room. I can hear the difference between just the soundbar vs the TV audio, the sound quality is much better when it is coming out through the soundbar. The subwoofer is really the star of the show giving you a little bit of bass and more of an output of sound that is your best bet for better sound. For me, one of the biggest benefits is the Bluetooth/wireless feature and the ability to move the soundbar around. If you are looking to get a better sound quality out of your TV or just listening to music, or the ease of moving the soundbar to other locations this is a great product for the price.
