From school supplies to snacks to germs, kids share everything! At the beginning of every school year, I would painstakingly write my name on every crayon, marker, pad of paper and other school supplies. It was required that our personal belongings had our name on them and that policy has carried over to my own children. Labeling items is beneficial in many ways such as avoiding lost or misplaced items and easily being able to identify what items are your child’s. With labels, your child can avoid bringing home the wrong pair of shoes or lunchbox. Other than school supplies, labels and personalized products are fantastic for toys or any other items your child might need at school, daycare, playdates, even after school activities such as swimming goggles, karate belts, or sports equipment. Of course I did most of my labeling with a Sharpie, but these days there are much easier options.

We received the fun gift pack above that I had personalized for my mother to give to a friend. The lunch pail quality is wonderful and a very nice size for a young child. There is an insulated lining as well that will help keep your child’s food at the right temperature. It also makes for easy cleaning just wipe down with a damp cloth. The cute matching water bottle that I requested with a soccer theme fits perfectly into the lunch pail. We also received some labels which will come in handy for many things such as supplies, books, etc.
Items such as the Classic Large Name Labels are microwavable and dishwasher safe making them the perfect choice for lunchboxes, drink bottles, and other food containers. Labels can especially come in handy when it comes to allergies. Eating or drinking from containers that aren’t theirs could be hazardous! They also offer personalized drink bottles in bright colors and original designs. They are stainless steel, BPA free, and most importantly spill proof! Something else that caught my eye were their personalized Lunch Pails! They are made with insulated lining and have a front pocket as well as space at the top for a drink bottle. The handle has been reinforced for easy carrying.
While labeling belongings is helpful, I do caution against having visible name tags or labels on items such as backpacks or school bags.
This makes it too easy for strangers to call your child by name which can lead to trouble. For those items, I would recommend placing the label on the inside. If they have a personalized lunchbox like you see here just have them carry it in their backpack.
