Permanent Hair Removal at Home with Silk'n

I despise shaving! My husband and I have this debate often, who has it worse him shaving his face or me shaving my legs? Either way, I still despise shaving. Not only is it a chore it is definitely not cheap. A four-pack of razors these days, if you get a decent one is $15+. I’ve never tried lotions that are supposed to help remove hair or waxing other than on my eyebrows. So for me, shaving is usually how I get rid of unwanted hair, but I’ve always wanted a permanent hair removal at home option.

Last year I had the opportunity to try laser hair removal and I was very impressed. My sessions are guaranteed for life which is great because, after almost a year of treatments, I stopped because I was tired of going. I still need to go in and follow up in order to finish my hair removal. How nice would it be to be able to get permanent hair removal at home? Definitely would be a nice alternative to sessions in an office.

Silk’n Flash&Go

Recently I was asked to try out a Silk’n Flash&Go, which is a permanent hair removal at home tool. I started using the Silk’n Flash & Go about two months ago and I’ve already noticed a difference in my hair growth. I have decided to try out the product on my underarms and upper lip. Because you are not supposed to have an “active” suntan I’ve decided to leave my legs for the winter months when they are covered more often.

Why can’t I treat myself if I have an “active” suntan?
Do not use Flash&Go on tanned skin or after sun exposure! Tanned skin, particularly following sun exposure, contains large quantities of the pigment melanin. This applies to all skin types and complexions, including those who don’t seem to tan quickly. The presence of large quantities of melanin exposes the skin to higher risk of adverse effects when using Flash&Go or any other energy based treatment, including burns, blisters, and skin color changes (hyper- or hypo-pigmentation, unfortunately, hair pigmentation would not work with these conditions).

The treatments are very easy to administer and are really quite painless. You will feel a small heated zap. I have noticed that after the treatments the skin is a little tender but I wouldn’t call it painful at all. I use the highest setting since my skin can tolerate it and it should bring on results sooner. After only two treatments I am finding I do not need to shave as much. I’m hoping with a few more treatments I will no longer need to shave at all.

The Silk’n Flash&Go is very comfortable in your hands and you can’t go wrong since the lights on the side let you know when it is ready.

You can increase the strength of the pulse from 1-5. You should remember the strength you use for your next session, when the unit is shut off it reverts back to 1. When the Flash&Go is placed on the skin and it has detected that the skin is ok for treatment the lights on the side will flash. If for any reason it detects your skin tone is too dark it will not allow you to do a treatment on that area of the skin. It will also let you know when you are out of pulses and need to replace the cartridge. I’m very excited that I also received a Silk’n Flash&Go Unlimited Cartridge with my review unit which means I should have enough pulses to do all the places I want to remove hair without worrying about purchasing another cartridge.
