Wow leaving for a few days really puts one behind. I totally missed both Wordless Wednesday and Thursday Tell All this week just trying to keep on top of the normal day to day. I spent all day Saturday getting through almost two weeks of laundry. Also had a few hiccups on my blog last weekend and this weekend you may have noticed, but hopefully that is all taken care of. So on to the weekend review. First I wanted to give a big thanks to Disney for bringing me to LA to take part in the Real Steel and The Muppets press junkets it was an amazing experience. I will tell you that at first I was pretty nervous and really started feeling like interviews and “press” related activities were not my cup of tea however after our first interview with producers Don Murphy and Susan Montford and writer John Gatins I found the whole process to be AMAZING.

What I found fascinating is listening to how the movie morphed into what we saw on the big screen. How what you will see this coming week was not the initial intention of the producers. John Gatins told a story about a few scenes that were deleted and we were definitely disappointed. Listening to the brilliant minds talk about their craft and their passion was amazing. Quick note: Look for John Gatins in the fill he actually plays a small part. We also got a chance to talk with the director Shawn Levy. Let’s just say that Shawn Levy and Energy are two of a kind. This man was just full of enthusiasm and passion and it was catchy. He was fun and seemed like an over all great guy. It was interested to learn that the three girls you will see at the beginning of the film are Shawn Levy’s daughters. How cool is that? He also had the coolest Real Steel shoes on and I’m so disappointed I didn’t manage to snap a quick pic.

We also got a chance to interview Sugar Ray Leonard (who was the boxing consultant on Real Steel) and Anthony Mackie (who plays Finn). Both of these gentlemen were quite humorous especially Anthony Mackie. A little fun note about Anthony Mackie, he likes smoothies.

Of course I saved the very best for last and that of course is the sexy leading man of Real Steel, Hugh Jackman. If you have ever heard that this man is sweet, kind, and down to earth believe what you hear. Hugh talked to all of us like we were old friends. I can’t wait to post his interview. One very touching story was about Hugh and Shawn Levy’s youngest daughter. Hugh and the little star bonded on the set and according to her were an “item” don’t tell Hugh Jackman’s wife. Even after shooting Hugh Jackman called her on her birthday just to wish her a happy one. See I told you he was sweet.
What interest me is in my research to check my own thoughts I found something contradictory. If you ask me what color of eyes Hugh Jackman has I would say they were green with some gold. However reports I’ve read say they are light brown or hazel. After reading this description of hazel: Hazel eyes often appear to shift in color from a light brown to a golden-green. I guess I am still right. I’m telling you they were a pretty bright green with some gold tones and I think I had a good view.
I couldn’t leave out another important part of our press junket for Real Steel and that of course is meeting another star of the show Atom. Atom is the underdog and easy to love robot that Charlie and Max unearth in a robot junk yard.
This is just a few hours of our day in LA so I’ve decided to break up my post into quite a few days. This just gives you more Real Steel action, and some interesting things to look forward too. If I haven’t mentioned it once, twice, or three times before you HAVE to go see this movie. It has quickly become one of my all time favorite movies.
