Introducing Stevie
Our new family member is the four-legged kind. I know, I know, you are thinking Colleen you have ANOTHER pet? This is from the woman who has expressed for years that pets are adorable but just didn’t want one. You can blame this one on the pandemic. I could really see the toll the social distancing was taking on my 14-year-old daughter. She was often moody, upset, and just plain M-I-S-E-R-A-B-L-E! She had been begging for a kitten for quite a few months. After much discussion, my husband and I finally caved in, if for any other reason than her mental health.
I’ve never been a cat person or a dog person for that matter. But both Rex and Stevie have captured my heart. I mean seriously how could it not? We adopted her from Luv-a-Pet at about 6 weeks old. Her birthday is 07/01/20. For whatever reason my daughter knew she wanted an orange/ginger kitten so that is what her daddy got her.
Stevie – 6 Weeks Old
She is a very curious kitten. She loves to check out whatever you are doing, and just has to investigate everything!
Stevie the Investigator
Just like a toddler, this girl can sleep ANYWHERE, and unlike a toddler, she can get herself into the oddest positions!
Sleeping Stevie
Another great thing is Stevie and Rex have become good friends. Initially, Rex was very excited and chased after and followed Stevie everywhere. She would often run under the sofa, or hide from him. But these days she is often looking for him to get him to chase her or play with her. If we ask “Where is Stevie?” he jumps up and looks in her normal hiding places to help find her. You can often find them lounging around together.
Rex and Stevie: Great Friends
When I work at home she loves to just hang out with me, and she doesn’t care what I’m doing and if she is in my way!
Stevie the Working Woman
As if all of that isn’t enough, she is just so cute and full of personality! She especially loves a little attention in the morning.
