Nothing says I love you like something sweet for your significant other. By sweet I mean something chocolatey, and even better if it is paired with salt. I often wonder why salt and sugar make such an alluring pair. Maybe it is because opposites attract but balance each other out. My hubby and I don’t do big gestures for Valentine’s Day. I’m not the romantic type, my husband is, but me…not so much.
I would prefer a day of relaxation, no cooking, cleaning, or taking care of anyone. That is my idea of a great gift. Or maybe that relaxing day combined with a day at the spa. Or better yet a relaxing day of not lifting a finger at a spa eating chocolate! Ok did I mention chocolate? Check out these Salted Dark Chocolate Almonds. They say dark chocolate is good for you so if you don’t think about how many you eat maybe you can say they are good for you.

Now really how hard can that be? Not to mention there will be no guessing what is in the center! Ok, I do have one tip for you. Have you ever melted chocolate in the microwave before? Oh, you have? Ok well, I hadn’t (past tense). For Christmas, my daughter and I made some amazing chocolate pretzel snaps but unfortunately, I lost a whole bag of chocolate to overcooking it. When you overcook chocolate it becomes hard and not creamy. Umm….I don’t think I’ve ever left chocolate out in the sun and it has turned hard. However, leave it too long in the microwave and that is exactly what is going to happen!
