A few weekends ago the family and I headed north to have a little fun and relaxation. After all, it was the first weekend of spring break. I think work should be on the local school schedule. We had the pleasure of being a guest at the Caribe Royale in Orlando the only all-suite hotel and convention center near the Disney attraction district in Orlando, FL.
Since there are five of us in the family a suite is the perfect solution without the expense of two separate rooms. One of my favorite features of our suite was the separation between the bedroom and the living area. With five people this separation makes for a much more comfortable stay. For couples planning a different kind of Orlando trip, the area also has plenty of ways to turn a hotel stay into a romantic Orlando anniversary getaway.
Our Caribe Royale Stay
My oldest son was thrilled when he found out he was going to get to sleep in a room with his own TV instead of sharing it with his father. My youngest son was much happier sleeping in the second Queen-sized bed and nodding off to Dad’s sports!
Accommodations
After we were all settled in the boys headed over to the basketball courts while Honey and I made it down to the pool. I threw on my suit but found I enjoyed watching Honey more so than I did getting in the water. When we were done with our swim we headed back up to the room where we were greeted with a few welcome gifts.
Special Touches
Nothing says home like milk and cookies. We enjoyed the rest of the night having dinner at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney. We woke up the next morning and headed down to the Tropicale Restaurant for the breakfast buffet. I love buffets because you can get such a range of food. The food was great and my favorite was the French toast sprinkled with powdered sugar. We spent the afternoon at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, which made the hotel feel like a great place to come back to after a busy park day. If you are pairing resort time with a Universal Orlando vacation, planning ahead for tickets, park bags, heat, and breaks can make the whole trip feel less rushed. That evening, the kids got to spend the rest of the night where they wanted to be, and the view from our room was amazing!
Amazing View
When the kids and I were down at the pool my husband would text me knowing exactly what everyone was doing. Even from the 10th floor, he could see what was going on. My daughter and youngest son had a blast on the slide.
Amenities
The atmosphere was kid-friendly and peaceful. Around the other side of the large 250,000-gallon free-form pool was a beautiful waterfall.
The pool was definitely the best amenity if you asked the kids.
There are several other amenities that we just didn’t get the time to visit or use, but would be great for a longer stay such as the fitness center, spa, business center, tennis courts, and more. One of my personal favorite things was the comforters on the bed. LOL yep, I want to know where they got them. They were so comfortable I wanted to stuff one in my suitcase and bring it home with me.
