Fender x Teufel ROCKSTER CROSS Review
After a rainy weekend thanks to Hurricane Debby, my husband and I were finally able to spend our usual day out in the sun, poolside. During the hot summers here in South Florida, you can often find us with drinks in hand, lounging in our pool, watching TV, playing darts, and soaking up the sun.
Our backyard is my favorite place to be, and this weekend we had the pleasure of adding the Fender x Teufel ROCKSTER CROSS Bluetooth speaker to our weekend must-haves. It fits right in with our favorite pool party essentials, especially when we want music or TV audio outside.
We were sent the ROCKSTER CROSS Bluetooth speaker to review, and I am very impressed. I have owned quite a few Bluetooth speakers over the years since they are a popular review request, but I can honestly say this speaker tops the list as my favorite Bluetooth speaker so far.
The sound is amazing! Not only does it carry across the backyard, but the bass in this speaker makes everything sound full, rich, and clear, almost as if you were right there.
A few things stood out right away:
- Strong, clear sound for outdoor use
- Impressive bass without sounding muddy
- Enough volume to carry across our pool area
- Easy setup for backyard TV and music
- Portable enough for pool days, beach trips, or outdoor gatherings
ROCKSTER CROSS Connected to TV
My husband likes to have the TV on while we are outside. Often it is turned to a sporting event or ESPN, but for the purpose of showing the amazing sound of this speaker, I chose a movie with music.
The speaker is sitting on a table in the corner of our outdoor seating setup, while the TV is mounted high in the corner. I have always thought it would be nice to connect the TV to a Bluetooth speaker so we could enjoy the sound closer to us, but every speaker we tried in the past just did not produce the quality or volume we wanted.
That changed when we tried the ROCKSTER CROSS Bluetooth speaker.
I did not turn it up as loud as it could go because a neighbor was relaxing outside, and I did not want to disturb her, but the sound is amazing. I also wanted to test how the speaker sounded from a distance.
As mentioned, we are often in the pool, and it is nice to hear the TV or music while we are enjoying the water. In the video below, the speaker is in the same place, and I positioned myself on the far side of the pool. The sound starts out low, but I continue to turn it up so you can hear how well it carries.
The video is short because, again, I did not want to bother my neighbor. It gets that loud, and it sounds like the speaker is right next to me.
Additional Bluetooth Speaker Features
The sound quality is the most important thing, and we give it an A+++, but this powerful Bluetooth speaker has some other great features as well.
A few features we appreciated right away include:
- Easy Bluetooth pairing
- Portable design for outdoor use
- Strong sound from a compact setup
- Simple controls on the back of the speaker
- The ability to use it with both our TV and phone
Easy Bluetooth Pairing
It was very simple to pair the ROCKSTER CROSS Bluetooth speaker to both the TV and my phone. I held the pairing button on the back for a few seconds until the blue light began to blink, then I was able to find the speaker on both the TV and phone and pair it instantly.

Device Charging
The ROCKSTER CROSS Bluetooth speaker can also charge your device. This is a great feature if you are using your phone as your music source and spending the day outside. Your phone can stay charged, and the music can keep playing.
Adapter or Battery
We have access to an outlet, so the ROCKSTER CROSS Bluetooth speaker is easy to plug in and keep on the table. However, a great feature is that it also has a rechargeable battery.
This makes it convenient when we want to move the speaker around or take it somewhere without easy access to an outlet, such as the beach, a picnic, or another outdoor outing.
Carrying Strap
A heavy-duty strap is included for carrying the speaker or hanging it if you want a higher placement. This is helpful if you are using it outside and want the sound to carry from a better spot.
Dual Pairing
We only have one ROCKSTER CROSS Bluetooth speaker, but if you had two, you could create more of a surround-sound atmosphere. Pairing two speakers with Bluetooth allows for simultaneous playback at even higher volumes.
Is the ROCKSTER CROSS Bluetooth Speaker Worth It?
We love the ROCKSTER CROSS Bluetooth speaker as an addition to our weekend activities. It has the volume, bass, and portability we need for pool days, outdoor TV, music, and relaxing in the backyard.
The only thing I would love to see is an app to control the speaker from a distance. This is a minor thing, but it would make it even easier to adjust the sound when we are in the pool or sitting farther away.
Overall, this speaker really is a ROCKSTER. You can find current pricing, availability, and additional specifications on the official Fender x Teufel ROCKSTER CROSS product page.
