Things are going really well after one week. Just a recap of my commitment, my husband and I decided 2012 would be the year of “Health” for us with our focus on losing weight, getting in shape, and becoming healthier overall. Each day gets me one step closer to all three goals. Thankfully they are all wrapped up in each other and reaching one will inevitably lead to reaching or in reach of the others.
So we decided we would eat great for 6 days and take one day as a “free” day. The concept is just getting through those 6 days knowing the seventh day you can get whatever you want makes it seem easier and less of a struggle. Our free day is Saturday so if you are following me at all keep that in mind when you check out my post and/or logs.
First I’m logging my weight on a fun ticker. This is just for quick and easy visual confirmation. You can find it located on my right sidebar at any given time. I weighed myself on Saturday (before my free day) and found that I had lost 6 pounds. Pretty good for the first week. I’m sure about 4 pounds of that is water. I usually lose between 5-10 lbs the first week anytime I start eating correctly, so this is about the norm.

I love that I can see when I should reach my weight loss goal staying on the track I am currently on. This will update everyday as it averages out your weight loss. I find this daily visual gives you a specific day to look forward to. I also like this feature:
Being able to analyze what you are eating and what works for you and your body is a great tool. Seeing my calorie intake also helps me keep it within my decided upon limits. This way I don’t eat too little or too much. You are welcome to check out my profile: Shibley Smiles Fitbit Profile
Over the past years in trying to loss weight there are a few things I’ve noticed about myself and one of them is I absolutely need variety. The second is I do better when I have a specific plan to follow. So I have a tentative plan when it comes to losing weight each week and that is to try a new plan each week. During this initial week I decided to stick with something that didn’t require a lot of preparation on my part. Something easy sounds like a good way to start. For this reason during my first week I stuck to the Slim Fast Weight Loss Program. With the shakes and bars I didn’t have to think much about what I was going to eat except dinner which my husband and I planned out on Monday evening.
For each week following I plan on checking out the weekly plans in “Woman’s World”. There is always a new plan and for the most part any menu I’ve seen has been pretty balanced and healthy. I may tweak it here and there to fit my own belief’s and likes but it gives me something to follow and something different each week.
This second week I’m adding fitness into my weekly routine. I started it off Monday with some fun Kinect games!
I am going to try to post weekly but I am still not committed to doing so. Should my plans go ary I don’t want to bother you with detail after detail of how I’m not doing well. Hopefully for me you will see me posting weekly 😉
