My husband and I committed to 90 days doing P90X. I was a little reluctant at first to even let anyone know. You know how it goes you get all excited, you tell everyone and then in a couple of days when people ask how you are doing it doesn’t always go the way you planned? Well I’ve decided that is not going to happen. My husband and I purchased the plan and then spent a week planning. We decided what supplemental items from Beachbody we were willing to spend the extra cost on. We purchased additional equipment and made an entire menu before we began.
We began on Saturday, and the reason for this is we have one rest day and I didn’t want it to be on the weekend because it is easier for us to workout on the weekends since we have more time. So our rest day is Friday. Due to our schedules we will be working out after we get home from work. We will be eating dinner first because I’m afraid waiting until after we work out we will be eating too late. I was afraid working out later before bedtime would be a problem but after the last two days I’m thinking it might actually be good. Both days immediately after working out I was exhausted. So exhausted I had to take at least a 30 minute nap.
With two days under our belts I must say I’m pretty proud of both my husband and I. I was afraid from everything I heard these work outs might be way over my head. However as long as you do your best and modify some of the moves I think the majority of people would be just fine (this is not medical advice, always seek your doctors approval before starting an exercise program.) For example we did the Plyometrics yesterday and when I heard this was nothing but jumping I will admit I was “S-C-A-R-E-D” I do not like high impact aerobics. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be but I definitely modified some of the moves. What I’m hoping to see is at least by the middle being able to do all the moves with little modification.
What excites me the most is doing this with my husband. I can honestly say that I think this is the factor that is going to keep me going, or us going. I think we will motivate each other. Also with both of us eating the same things it will be a lot easier when it comes to staying away from junk food.
I have some before photos but I think I will hold off posting any until I have a comparison photo. I plan on taking photos at 30, 60, and 90 days. So wish us luck on our 90 day journey!
