This past weekend my family and I were invited to a very special media trip at Universal Orlando. We had a blast staying in an on-site hotel and rubbing elbows with bloggers, PR, and Universal VIP’s. We ate, rode rides, and learned some information about some upcoming events at Universal Orlando. Before we left for our much anticipated trip we were alerted to a new online tool offered by Universal the interactive .
The vacation planner allows guests to completely customize their vacation and have access to experiential videos, personal recommendations, travel tips, sample itineraries, vacation packages and more.
The online vacation planner allows you as a potential visitor to become familiar with the theme parks, hotels, and entertainment to choose the best vacation for you. You can watch videos that will let you get an inside look at what Universal Orlando has to offer.
Once you have seen the property in videos you can customize your vacation based on your interests. Enter how many people are coming, when you plan on coming and your vacation interest such as: did you come to see shows? get wet? enjoy thrills? etc. With theyou will get personalized recommendations based on your needs.
Do you prefer not to plan every detail? I equate it to hitting the “random” button. Universal Orlando has created a few standard vacations based on a few different categories like family fun, grown up getaway, or thrill seekers. You can see what is planned for your specific category.
Of course what holds the most weight? Recommendations from others is usually at the top of my list. I know that if I’m going somewhere new, where I know a friend or relative has been, I will find out from them what they thought. If I don’t have that luxury the next best thing would be a mom with kids around the age of my children. One thing about a mom she will tell it like it is!
I can tell you after my stay this weekend that this mom highly recommends staying in an on-site hotel, and preferably one that offers the express pass as a benefit. These two features made our vacation even better than vacations past. Check out my upcoming posts on the on-site hotel we stayed in, the Loews Royal Pacific Resort, and the brand new one in the works, Cabana Bay Beach Resort.
