We often stress about making our minds and body healthy but what about our living environment? In order to achieve true balance your home has to be a happy and healthy haven for your happy and healthy body. Filtrete Odor Reduction Filters are just one way to help create this necessary environment. We rent our home and our landlord has fitted the air conditioner with one of those re-useable air filters. While I’m all about recycling and limited our waste I absolutely HATE the re-useable filters. There are such a pain to clean.
This sounds like the filters of all filters. So much more then just a filter to capture particles and keep them from infiltrating your cooling and heating system. This baby goes one step further and deodorizes your home. I think I may just pick up one of these and give it a try.
Filtrete Odor Reduction Filter Benefits:
- 65 times more effective than other carbon filters at removing odors, such as those from cooking, tobacco smoke, pets, mildew and cleaning chemicals.
- Starts to remove even the strongest odors in minutes, after the furnace fan is turned on
- Captures large airborne allergens such as household dust, pollen, mold spores and dust mite debris
- Captures microscopic particles such as smoke, pet dander and smog
- Last up to three months for odor removal and particle capture for air passing through the filter
I visited their website www.Filtrete.com and found the Filtrete Odor Reduction Filter has a rating of five stars with some really good customer comments. The great thing is I don’t have to order these online and wait for them to ship they are available at select home centers, hardware and grocery stores nationwide. I will have to check out my local Publix and see if they have any in stock. It sounds like they will be perfect for myself and my son who have allergies.
The new Filtrete Odor Reduction Filter helps remove odors throughout the entire home while improving indoor air quality and helping to reduce airborne allergens such as pollen, mold spores and dust mite debris from the air passing through the filter. The filter has a unique two-sided design, with one side that captures large airborne particles and the second side that removes household odors.
Due to our allergies we try to do all that we can to keep things clean and our air void of allergens. Like the Honeywell True HEPA Tower we have in my sons room. In fact I just purchased a new filter for this unit. If I go out and purchase the Filtrete Odor Reduction Filter now both of the filters will need to be replaced at the same time and it will be easy to keep track!
Of course filters and odors are just a small part of keeping your house and environment healthy. Check out some of these great tips by Lisa Beres. I especially love the one for pest. With summer weather upon us we find the ants have started pushing their way into the house and we are battling them like we do every year. I hate to spray inside my home with the over the counter pesticides. I think I could so do the lemon juice.
Source: Pests and repellants
Solution: Pesky ants and other insects can make their way into your kitchen pantry when they’re on a mission to find food, but dousing them and your kitchen’s surfaces in toxic repellent isn’t a healthy solution for the home or the family. Instead, set a line of coffee grinds, lemon juice, cinnamon or cayenne pepper around doors and windows to create an effective barrier they won’t cross.Source: Candles and air fresheners
Solution: Instead of trying to mask the odors with store-bought air fresheners, create your own air freshener by combining 10 drops of an essential oil — such as lavender or eucalyptus — with two cups of water. Many air fresheners may sway you with the scents of fresh cut grass, warm vanilla or tropical fruits, but they can contain synthetic chemicals, such as formaldehyde, which can irritate eyes, skin and throats.Source: Damp towels
Solution: Wet towels from a shower, a trip to the gym or a day at the pool can be a breeding ground for mildew to develop if they sit too long without drying. To rid towels of the mildew smell, first wash them once in hot water with a cup or two of white vinegar. Then wash them again with a natural or eco-friendly laundry detergent. Finally, dry the towels in the dryer on high heat. To avoid mildew and associated smells in the future, hang towels up right away to ensure they dry thoroughly.
