Running is one of the most popular and easy ways to get in your daily or weekly exercise. Ok I wouldn’t call it easy, it is definitely not easy for me. I have never “loved” running but I’ve always felt it is something I should try to conquer. I’m excited to say that I’m a Team New Skin Ambassador! I will be sharing with you my own running experience and how I take care of my skin with New Skin®’s line of products. I’ve always wanted to run in a 5K. While that is not my current goal I would like to get closer to it by completing the couch to 5k program.
Throughout my running experience I will also be testing out several New-Skin® products such as New-Skin® Liquid Bandage, New-Skin® Liquid Spray Bandage and New-Skin™ Anti-Chafing Spray. Check out this fun package I received to put together my own Runner’s Tool Kit.
About New-Skin® Liquid Bandage
New-Skin® Liquid Bandage and Liquid Bandage Spray can be used to help prevent bacterial contamination in minor cuts and scrapes. Both dry rapidly to form a tough protective cover that is antiseptic, flexible, waterproof, and lets skin breathe.
Just one stroke or spray protects the wound by keeping out dirt and germs and provides protection against infection with an antiseptic.
About New-Skin® Anti-Chafing Spray
New-Skin® Anti-Chafing Spray is a waterproof silicone-based formula that prevents and soothes chafing and blistering from friction or rubbing.
Runner’s Tool Kit
So what is it that is required to start a running program? The answer is subjective, each runner has their own personal needs and wants when it comes to what they feel is necessary for a good run. Here is what I consider the must have’s to complete my running routine, in addition to the New-Skin® products listed above.
Sneakers
You must have a good pair of sneakers, and if you are like me you want them to be stylish. I picked these up at my local Fit 2 Run where they fitted me for these baby’s. Make sure your sneakers fit well and are in good shape. You don’t want to run with an old warn out pair of sneakers that aren’t going to support your foot and cause you problems down the road.
Music
I absolutely can’t run without some heart pumping music. I need something that is going to get my blood moving and keep my legs running. Definitely a must have motivational tool.
Water
I have to have water when I’m running. I get thirsty pretty fast when I’m doing any kind of exercise and running is no exception.
Running Program
Maybe not a must but definitely for me having a program to follow and somewhere to log my progress keeps me going. I love this Ease into 5K program, it is currently loaded on my iPhone and can be used in conjunction with my running.
These are just some of the tools I think are necessary in my Runner’s Tool Kit.
New-Skin® recently conducted a survey finding that 66% of people cite general fitness, exercise, conditioning and overall well-being as their motivation or reason for running. New-Skin has been providing active skin protection for over 100 years. Get outdoors and be active with New-Skin.
