It’s easy for parents to get bogged down in the middle of the back to school rush. Making sure my children have everything they need including supplies, necessary forms filled out, fees paid, clean clothes and schedules made is daunting. Add to that my job, blogging, and household tasks and you can see how tackling my day can be hard work! I happen to be of the mindset that said hard work deserves a reward now and then. When I’m in the mood to treat myself to something special, one of my favorite places to visit is Target. I can grab an ice slurpee to sip on while I browse. Penciling in the time to slow down and enjoy my leisurely meander through the store rather than powering down each aisle in a hurry because I have to get home and start dinner is definitely a treat in itself. I love finding amazing deals and having some time to myself.
Some of my favorite aisles are:
Books – While read as much as I use to I do still keep a good book on my nightstand for nightly reading in the bath or before bed. I love heading over to peruse the new offerings in this section. Sometimes I’ll snag the best-seller everybody has been talking about, but finding the time to read it is an entirely different story.
Clearance – Is it possible to stop at Target without swinging through this section? I’ve found amazing discounts here and I’m sure I’d feel guilty if I left the store without even the quickest once over. Something as simple as paper straws for photo props or fun tube of lip gloss for my daughter.
Home Decor – It’s incredible how fast you can lose yourself in this department. Why yes, I do need a new shower curtain. And that lamp would look perfect on my desk. A delicious smelling candle for the dining room table? Of course!
Beauty – Who can skip past these aisles without stopping to sniff a few products? I’m always on the lookout for shampoo and conditioner that can beat the frizz in this late summer heat. Plus, I can always find fantastic deals for my daughter here too from hair accessories to fun nail polish colors. I know the trip was supposed to be for me, but I can’t help it – when I see a good deal for my family, I’m all over it.
Clothes – Late summer is the perfect time to find deeply discounted summer items that make a perfect addition to next year’s wardrobe. Or in our case here in South Florida all year round! It also makes picking up any last minute items for the coming school year a breeze.
Ice Cream – Yes, when I shop at Target this section gets it’s own mention. Ice cream is one of my favorite food indulgences and the prices are amazing at Target. My ice cream tastes tend to cycle – sometimes I want something light and fruity, other times rich and decadent. Whatever my tasteb uds are craving, Unilever has me covered with a variety of choices including Popsicle [orange, cherry, and grape], Fruttare Strawberry, Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake, Magnum Double Caramel, and Klondike Original. They are all delicious, but my current favorite are the Magnum ice cream bars. Velvety smooth ice cream paired with Belgian chocolate and double layers of caramel. They are definitely a treat to savor and from 8/9 to 9/5 they are on sale Buy 3, Get 1 Free* in-store at Target. *
