I mentioned last week that Aspen Dental was in Roscoe, IL with Danica Patrick to promote the Healthy Mouth Movement.
Healthy Mouth Movement
Throughout 2014, dentists and team members from nearly every Aspen Dental practice in 27 states will be opening their doors and devoting a Saturday to providing much-needed dental care to those who need it most – free of charge, no questions asked. In the spirit of helping as many people as they can, dentists focus on treating the most urgent dental need of each patient by providing dental services such as fillings, extractions, an x-ray or basic denture repairs. The first priority is to get people out of pain, make them aware of what other dental needs they have, and through the partnership with Oral Health America, connect patients with free or low-cost resources in their community that will help them continue to address their dental care needs. Additionally, in order to reach communities where care isn’t available, the Aspen Dental MouthMobile, a fully-equipped dental office on wheels, has driven directly into communities to provide free dental care and raise oral health awareness in partnership with local charities.
They had a great turn out and some very happy participants
I think this is such a wonderful service. I know this only includes basic cleaning but I know of people that need more care without the means of doing so. My mother is one of those people. Dental insurance only seems to help so much. I think we need to, as a whole, really put dental care in the fore front of our minds. I honestly believe that preventive care helps keep future problems from arising. If we all were able to get more preventive care we would spend less on dental work such as cavities, root canals, etc.
The Healthy Movement has served 2,235 patients and donated $799,990 all with the help over 1,500 volunteers! You can find more about the Healthy Mouth Movement at Aspen Dental.
