Pajama Program provides New Pajamas and New Books to children in need nationwide, many of whom are awaiting adoption, and have been abused and neglected. Most of these children have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a mother or father tuck them in at bedtime with warm, clean pajamas and a bedtime story. These two simple gifts let these children know that someone cares – sometimes these are the only new things they have ever received.
One child’s caregiver said “It gives them a calming more secure routine at bedtime which is priceless. What you give them (through the books & pj’s) is an ability to regain a sense of who they are and not be afraid.”
In honor of Valentine’s Day, Pajama Program is launching their “Open Your Heart,” campaign. During the freezing cold months of January and February, children in need nationwide go to bed in freezing temperatures with nothing to keep them warm and comforted at night.
