Day One under my belt I thought I would journal my feelings of the first day for you. If you missed my beginning stats and post you can find them here: Nutrisystem Review Nation 10-Day Challenge : The Beginning.
I packed up my food and headed off to work. With me I brought my 32 oz container of water and popped some vitamins.
First up Breakfast:
The syrup was not on the plan but I couldn’t imagine plain French Toast. My breakfast was really rather tasty. I was surprised at how well the frozen waffle tasted. Paired with the milk and 1/2 banana it was just enough.
I found however that around 10:30-11:00 I was getting pretty hungry. Despite no plan for a snack during this time frame I decided to eat the egg I brought to go with my lunch for snack. It held me over until lunch.
Lunch:
I found lunch to be rather tasty as well. Maybe it is my taste for Mexican but the chicken fajita melt with the green beans was enough to satisfy my hunger yet not make me feel stuffed.
I was however ready for my snack at 3:30
This snack did not hold me over nearly enough. I have never been able to eat fruit for an afternoon snack with a touch of protein and feel satisfied and void of hunger. In the future I’m going to need to be heavier on the protein to sustain my blood sugar and hunger. I did start feeling a dip in my blood sugar right before I left for home.
Dinner: (very soon after I arrived home)
I could have easily eaten twice the portion of dinner but really the meal was big enough as is. I did have to TOTALLY drain the pasta of the sauce. I DO NOT like tomatoes and not given a choice to pick each meal I had no choice but to eat what I had. The ravioli was GREAT just not smothered in tomato sauce (though I know it is good for you). It reeked of tomatoes so I cooked the dinner then drained/washed off the sauce after that I was good to go. Added some steamed broccoli.
Dessert:
I don’t normally eat after dinner but this sundae definitely hit the spot. I did find myself later in the evening wanting to eat but I wasn’t sure if it was just out of habit. I got that feeling of I want to but “I can’t” so I fought the urge.
In addition to my healthy eating I accomplished a little bit of exercise. I used the 200 sit-up program and finished 81 sit-ups. Using the 100 push-up program I completed 31.
The food was much better then I had prepared myself for and the ease of putting my meals together definitely made things easy to stay on track. I have not planned out my eating for today since it is Saturday but I don’t for see any issues with staying on track.
So how are your own efforts? Are you actively changing your lifestyle either with food or fitness? I would love to hear about it.
