I’ve actually just finished day 10 as of this morning. However due to some special events over the weekend I’m extending my challenge another day or two. Saturday I left the house at 9:45 and didn’t make it back until 8:30. Not exactly easy to take frozen meals with you. I did pretty good the whole day until dinner when I splurged at my nephew’s birthday party. Friday I had a vacation day from work and lets just put that day down as a “cheat” day. So I will be following up in the next two days with a final weight loss. On to today’s topic the Nutrisystem Frozen Dinners.
My favorite dinner was definitely the Turkey Pepperoni Pizza but having already talked about how great their pizza is I thought I would start with my second favorite, the Glazed Chicken Tenders. This was the meal that really had me second guessing that it was frozen. The rice and beans did not taste like they had come from a frozen meal at all. I loved the flavor of the mushroom wild rice.
The Ravioli Formaggio was another one I really enjoyed, minus the tomato sauce. You might have remembered I posted that with this dish I had to drain off the tomato sauce because I’m not a big fan of them at all! There is another dinner similar to this one, Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Shells. Even though that one was good and my daughter wanted me to share my dinner I prefer this one! Nothing against spinach I enjoy spinach but I love the plain cheese filled ones better.
I can eat almost any kind of Salisbury Steak, frozen, healthy, not healthy. This is one meat I’ve always loved. The Nutrisystem Salisbury Steak and Macaroni and Cheese did not disappoint in the meat department. I was not all too thrilled with the macaroni and cheese, but to be fair I really only like Kraft Macaroni and Cheese I’m not even a fan of home made either. Maybe some green beans or of course mashed potatoes would be better!
I saved the best for the last the Asian – Style Beef. This meal was excellent. So much so that my daughter not only asked to try it but did end up sharing it with me. I couldn’t say no to those baby blues. She loved all of it, the broccoli, rice, and beef. So not only did I really enjoy it but my 5 year old daughter also gives this meals two thumbs up. It is great for those days when you might be craving a little bit of Chinese!
I’m so sad to see that my 10-Day time frame is coming to an end. I can’t tell you how easy it has been for the most part to just grab my food and pack my breakfast and lunch for work. That is definitely half of the battle won already. It is when I’m not prepared that I have a hard time eating as a should. Once I have a choice of what to eat I tend to waiver a little too much.
Look in the next few days for a few more post. I will be doing one about the YUMMY desserts, can’t forget them they make it much easier to eat well all day long. As well as a follow up post regarding my total weight loss so far.
