The last couple of months have been a whirlwind of stress, work, and thankfully family vacations. I feel like I have spent little time connecting with everyone and sharing the real lives between Shibley Smiles.
We purchased our new home on May 13th and officially moved in May 31st. It did not go as we had planned. What we though was going to be a tough but faster paint job ended up taking us weeks. We painted our whole home all the way to the tip top of the 14 foot ceiling. Due to our lack of time we have yet to paint the bathrooms. I was hoping to move one room at a time so I could organize and put things in their place. Instead I ended up with a garage full of boxes and weeks of wondering where everything was.
It was only this past two weekends that I was finally able to get my bedroom together. I was able to unpack all the boxes and organize my sitting area. This weekend I tackled my closet, which is much smaller than my previous closet, and donated 6 bags of clothes and vacuumed sealed 3 large bags of clothes that are currently too small but will fit me great when I lose my weight. I finally feel that my house is becoming a home and thought I would share it with you.

Because my husband and youngest son are HUGE sports fans, especially football we had to find somewhere to put thier sports memorabilia. We decided to give our living room (which is not used that often) a sports theme. It just seemed to work well. I am still looking to get something better for the centerpiece and some sports lamps. We also need to put up some curtains but so far I like how it looks.

I still have a lot of work to do design wise on our dining room and kitchen had hopefully that will be coming along and I can share with you soon. I think I’m going to have to get my mom involved who seriously missed her calling as an interior designer. I can draw a pretty picture, I can create a fun costume but decorating is not something I excel at.
I hope you enjoyed a little peak into my first home! It is exciting to be a home owner!
