I love Christmas music, it is so festive. It makes me smile. We probably all know the words to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and sometimes get stuck on the 12 days of Christmas. I love all the traditional songs of the holiday, the ones we always sang as a kid. As we get older we can appreciate the songs of our youth and have room for new favorites. These are my favorite Christmas songs. Some I’ve enjoyed for a long time and some are new.
The Little Drummer Boy
I don’t know many people that enjoy this song but there is a story behind this song for me. When I was young and visited my dad for the summers I remember my grandmother having a record, a 45 you know the one where you had to put the little plastic thing into the record to get it to work (That is if you are old enough to remember). The record was of The Little Drummer Boy. This year I found a great rendition of the song by the Pentatonix.
O’Holy Night
My FAVORITE version of this song is the one song by Martina McBride
Mary Did You Know?
This is a new one for me this year and I love love love how Pentatonix sings it. I have downloaded it on my phone and listen to it often. You can often find my daughter and son singing it through the house. I’ve also seen it shared several times on Facebook.
