This weeks MediFast update is one of a thing I like to call “Life”. That means that life kinda took over this week. I had all intentions of doing awesome this week and just eating our annual Christmas dinner, however that is not how things panned out.
I spent the day Monday baking, baking, and baking. Being around all the sweets and smells I made a conscious decision to put MediFast to the side and enjoy the holiday with my family without the constant thoughts of what I should be eating. This means I did indulge. However I want to make the point of saying I made this decision. I made it so I would not feel guilty, or consider this a cheat, I decided to put “food” out of my mind and not dwell on it (which is something I do daily when I’m trying to lose weight).
I’m not in a race with myself or anyone to lose my weight and though I feel anyone can if they chose still lose weight during the holidays, they can still follow the plan if they chose I made the choice not too. I had/have 11 days off of work. This means I’m home with my kids all day and my husband also took the week off. We were on the go during and after the holidays. We did some shopping, went to the circus, went bowling and just really enjoyed each others company. This means pit stops to grab food, an evening at a restaurant, and pizza at the bowling alley.
I am still 100% committed to losing weight and the MediFast plan. In fact just this week my next shipment of food came in and it was great to pull out meal after meal of the foods I enjoyed during my first 3 weeks. This will make getting back to it even easier. This vacation has really given me some time to slow down and enjoy life without the stress of work and blog deadlines (which are abundant during the holidays). This slowing down is really helping me feel revitalized and ready for the new year and pounds to melt off.
I don’t know if I’ve ever set an actual goal but my goal is to try to lose what I want by June. I want to spend some time at the beach this summer and feel better about how I look when we are there.
Even with my choice this week I had a great week. I had to take back some clothes that I got for Christmas and found that I can almost fit into a size 12. I felt good trying on shirts and pants and it has been a while since I felt that way. This was definitely a victory !
Due to my indulgence for a good week I have decided to stay away from the scale. This is due to my own emotional relationship I often have with the scale. I don’t want to see the number it will show me. Instead I’m taking the week to get on track and would love to see the scale close to my previous weight of 168.4 the next time I step on.
Today is hubby’s birthday (yes he is a New Year’s Eve baby-don’t remind him). I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year and to a successful 2013!
