Have you ever seen the commercials for Grout Bully? The amazing grout cleaner that you simply wipe on, wait, and wipe off and your grout turns white in an instant? Here is the commercial if you have not seen it:
Now have you ever wondered does it really work? Is it worth the purchase? Well that is why we do reviews here at Shibley Smiles to tell you what we think of products and Grout Bully in my opinion is a capital F for F-A-I-L. I purchased the Grout Bully product a while ago thinking if this really works maybe I could use it in a few places in the home, which has quite a lot of tile. I decided to try it out in place that no too many people would notice. My bathroom tile in my shower.
I read the directions a couple of times to make sure it was as simple as I thought. Simply squeeze and apply (like shoe polish basically) wait and then wipe clean. Maybe my idea of easily wipe off and that of Grout Bully do not mean the same thing. In fact there was no WIPING going on. I had to scrub to get this stuff off of the surrounding tile. I even had to add water, and still scrub, and scrub, and scrub. After what I thought was going to be a simple procedure of apply and wipe clean I gave up. After getting as much of the Grout Bully off of the floor I thought to myself thankfully I tried this in my shower and not on the tile floors in the main living areas.
Here is an after photo (totally didn’t think to take a before I had not purchased this with the intentions of writing about it). Where the grout is worse in the center of the shower it didn’t appear to work at all. It seemed to stick (or clean if that is really what it is doing) better to the grout on the outer edges of the shower which were in better shape.
I definitely WOULD NOT purchase this product again or try it on another surface in my home. It is not nearly as easy as it is advertised.
