This past week I had my second laser hair removal treatment at Body Details in Palm Beach Gardens. To say I was excited to go to the appointment is probably not an accurate statement. I was excited to see the staff as they are a delight and always make me smile when I walk in, the actual treatment however well who is really excited about that? Excited for the end result definitely!
I was quite surprised with the results of the first appointment, my hair definitely slowed down in growth, or maybe just less hair to grow. In fact, Sarah explained to me in further detail of what she was trying to accomplish. The reason for the multiple visits is that in order for the hair to completely stop growing you have to “zap” it (for lack of a better word) in the right stage. That stage is the Anagen stage. So the hope is at each appointment more of the hairs in that stage are being caught and zapped.
This was interesting to me because I wondered why it took more then one treatment. At each appointment you should see less hair growing back until it gets to the point where no hair grows back. Did I mention the life time guarantee at Body Details? Definitely nice to know if for any reason hair does grow back you can go back in with no extra charge. This visit I decided to take a photo of the laser because unless you have had a treatment you may wonder what it looks like. It is actually smaller then I thought. Also this is the same laser used on large and small parts of the body.

Laser hair removal works by heating the hair in a given treatment hair to the point of singeing until it burns down to the root and kills the surrounding follicle all without damaging the surrounding skin or cells. This permanently destroys the root and as a result the hair never grows back! To illustrate an example: picture a black balloon inside of a pink balloon. If you were to pulse an Intense Pulsed Light laser at the balloons both would pop. As for the discomfort of the procedure I would say it was about the same as the first appointment but was just over faster. To try to explain the feeling it is kinda like a quick snap of a rubber band followed by cool air. For the most part it was tolerable accept in a few spots. According to Sarah in the spots with more hair, or thicker hair is where it stings the most. What we go through for beauty LOL!
I am extremely pleased with my visits and progress so far and really wish I could splurge for a full package. My legs would definitely be the next thing I would do, then probably my arms and a few other areas. I definitely recommend Body Details for laser hair removal if you are in the South Florida area.
