Sometimes it’s hard to tolerate the heat and humidity of Florida. It seems the elements are always wreaking havoc on me in one shape or the other. My hair has been known to frizz into something resembling a bird’s nest. My skin has gotten dry and itchy, too. As far as my hair, using a deep conditioner once a week and rinsing in cold water helps. There are some days I have to resign myself to a ponytail though. When it comes to my skin, I have a couple weapons in my arsenal as well. The first is drinking a ton of water. Ok, maybe less than a ton, but a lot. It has plenty of benefits, but keeping hydrated definitely makes my skin look softer and more healthy.

Something else I like to do for areas that are especially prone to dryness such as my feet, I’ll apply a liberal amount of lotion and then put on a pair of socks. This works best overnight, but can be done anytime to keep your feet supple.
I have to admit, I use quite a bit of lotion. But hey, when the alternative is scaly skin, I’m totally ok with it.
