Have you heard the saying, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day?” Fact or Fiction? Well I happen to believe this is a fact. Fact : Eating breakfast gets your metabolism working, and wakes up your system causing your metabolism to work throughout the day. Fiction : Skipping breakfast will help you save on calories. Fact : When you skip breakfast your body thinks it needs to conserve energy because of the lack of nutrition which actually slows your metabolism down, decreasing the amount of calories you burn all day.
So needless to say I eat breakfast every morning and I try and eat something that is nutritional. Which brings me to my new discovery Honey Bunches of Oats. Honey Bunches of Oats has added two new varieties to their family.
Honey Bunches of Oats
Honey Bunches of Oats Whole Grain Honey Crunch and Honey Bunches of Oats Vanilla Bunches.
These very delicious varieties provide 33 grams of whole grain per serving, 4 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein. What does grain and fiber do for you? It helps you stay full and satisfied and when you are full and satisfied you do less snacking. Another fact is on average, Americans eat less than one serving of whole grain per day, even though it’s an important part of a balanced diet.
Honey Bunches of Oats is a very tasty way of getting whole grain. Fact : Each serving of the two delicious varieties, Honey Crunch and Vanilla Bunches has 2/3 of your day’s Whole Grain and nutrients such as iron and Folic acid. A serving size with 1/2 cup of fat free milk only has 170 calories and only 20 of those calories are from fat.
Both of these cereals are extremely tasty with the sweet crunch of the crispy whole grain flakes and distinct crunchy granola clusters. The Honey Crunch has a touch of honey and the Vanilla Bunches gives you that dreamy taste of real vanilla.
You know some cereals are so sweet you feel like you ate a candy bar for breakfast? Not with these, I find both of these cereals refreshing. They are perfect, just enough sweetness yet very light and delicious. If I had to pick my favorite it is very close but I am partial to vanilla so Vanilla Bunches would win, but you can’t go wrong with either flavors.
