When asked to describe myself, graceful has never been a term toward the top of the list. I tend to drop things, spill on myself, knock stuff over… you get the picture. I’m pretty sure it’s the result of being a multi-tasker. At any given moment my brain is processing several different tasks and I might be writing a shopping list and trying to dust or some other combination of what I call “getting stuff done”. I’ve broken, cracked, and chipped my fair share of pretty much everything including dishes and especially electronics. With a dish I can clean up the mess and grab a new one, but I can’t exactly do that with my phone or tablet. With my clumsiness and the durability that I require from my phone, it’s so important for me to have a device with Corning® Gorilla® Glass.
Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4
There are many pros to using Gorilla Glass; the top for me is that it protects my electronics without being bulky. Remember cases when they first came out? They were clunky and took up too much room. And they didn’t always protect the screen. I need my phone to fit in my purse, my pocket, the console in my car. And I need it to be protected from the other items that might get bounced around near it. Gorilla Glass recognizes how demanding people are when it comes to mobile phones. We want light, thin, and pleasing to the eye. Gorilla Glass 4 provides exceptional damage resistance and is visually stunning at the same time. It protects against every day bumps and scrapes and withstands drops up to 2X better than competitive glass designs. Our whole lives are on our phone these days and Gorilla Glass puts their product to the drop test – they are conducted on rough surfaces to simulate rough streets, sidewalks, and parking lots. Gorilla Glass 4 is Corning’s toughest cover glass yet.
Some fun information on the tests:
Once Corning determined that consumers’ biggest gripe was screen breakage from everyday drops, Corning’s scientists worked to figure out how and why breaks happen. Then, Corning’s fine fractographers developed laboratory tests that closely replicated the real-world drops responsible for more than 70 percent of cover glass breakage – drops on rough surfaces such as asphalt and concrete. The next challenge was developing a product that stood up to those grueling laboratory tests.
That’s when Corning’s highly-trained glass scientists went to work creating the next iteration of the company’s industry-leading cover glass, Corning® Gorilla® Glass. The result was Corning’s toughest cover glass to date, Corning Gorilla Glass 4. This new version has been formulated to deliver dramatically improved drop performance, but maintains the thinness and lightness of previous versions.
Whether you’re a busy Mom balancing groceries and trying to capture that oh so perfect photo, a traveler whose stuff gets thrown around a lot, or anywhere in between, protect your phone with Gorilla Glass.
