Personal Note to Readers: This is one of my favorite sites I’ve reviewed. I endorse this site 100% it has everything a parent needs to keep their children safe on the internet. I urge you to take advantage of the free account.
I was just recently introduced to a new site called Fooz Kids. It took me a while to navigate it and get an idea of the purpose of the site but when I did can I just say it is FABULOUS! I love the site and especially love it since I have a young child that is extremely computer literate (gets it from her mother). Currently when Honey wants to get on the computer she has her own side, and on the side I’ve bookmarked some of her favorite sites. However bookmarking does not prevent pop ups or from her getting to any sites by accident that I would rather her not see. This is where Fooz Kids comes in! Fooz is a portal for your children to visit the sites YOU want them to visit, however it is so much more. You set up the account yourself and enter into the parent dashboard.
Once you have set up your account you can add each child onto the account. When they are ready to play they find the Fooz Kids application on their desktop (you will have to download software to your computer), and enter the Fooz Kids area. In this area the kids can do so many things, and only the things you allow them to do. See the Fooz Kids list up there in the photo? You can edit each item, websites, videos, games, and crafts. In this list you can select and deselect places your allowed to go and what they are allowed to do. In the list below the Fooz Kids list, called My Channel, you can add your own websites, videos, games, and crafts. I love this because as your child grows and you can and remove items as well as allow them access to websites you would like them to be able to visit.
Another great feature is once they are in Fooz Kids they can not get out without the “parent” password. This means they can not roam the internet and stumble upon sites that are not age appropriate. It is like a computer within a computer. Your kids can only go where you allow them to go. Once inside Fooz Kids there are many things your children can do, such as create and change their Fooz character. This is one of my daughters favorite parts.
There is a list of websites and videos your child can enjoy, as well as games they can play.
