We are still knee deep in boxes here at the new home but that hasn’t stopped me from doing a little shopping. Before we even moved I had purchased a large shelving unit to go in the dining/entrance area of my home. I purchased it online at. I’m a little leery sometimes about buying items online that I haven’t seen in person first. I knew I wanted a good quality shelf that was going to last.

This piece of furniture was not light at all, in fact the shipping document said it weighs 125 pounds. We finally got a free weekend, I use the word free loosely, to get a little bit of unpacking and cleaning up. My husband put my shelving unit together with just a little help from me.
Looks nice right? Of course now it only needs a few decorations. I received a gift card from Kohl’s to find just the right items for my new home decorating needs. I was able to purchase some really nice items. I’ve decided that my dining area is going to have blue/brown/gold accents so I was looking for items that would work well with those colors. This is one of my favorite items I purchased.
I also wanted to pick up some picture frames to add a personal touch. I still need to add some photos but the frames were a great price. When we purchased them it was buy one get one for $1.
I’m still not finished with my shelving unit as I have to find some items that are still in boxes. However I think overall it looks great and will be a nice focal point for the room.
I also purchased a fun beach like set of candles that I thought would be great for the shelf but ending up being too long. So instead we have placed it on our cocktail table. Turns out it didn’t come with the candles so I will have to purchase some.
It took my daughter and I several trips to Kohl’s to finally decide on our purchases. There were so many great deals and so many choices that we wanted to make sure we chose the right one. I love that you can find great clothes and item’s for your home, kitchen, or bath in one place!
Any ideas for my new shelving unit?
