A pet portrait is more than just a picture—it’s a heartfelt tribute to the furry (or feathered) companions who bring joy, comfort, and unconditional love into our lives. Whether it’s a playful pup, a curious cat, or a loyal old friend, capturing your pet’s unique personality in a custom portrait is a meaningful way to celebrate the bond you share. Not only does it create a lasting keepsake, but it also adds a personal and artistic touch to your home. A pet portrait honors the special role your animal plays in your life and keeps their spirit close for years to come.
Lord of Pets Review
Recently, we had the opportunity to create a pet portrait from Lord of Pets. We had a great time browsing through all their options. You can turn your pet into your favorite superhero, put them on the cover of a magazine, have them star in your favorite sci-fi movie, or choose a loved profession. The options are endless.

Style Options
Once you have selected what your pet portrait is going to look like, you then have several options on what type of material or style you want your pet portraits to be. Some styles include:
- Canvas
- Framed
- Movie Poster
- Magazine Covers
- Socks
- T-shirts
- Sweatshirts
Lord of Pets Pet Portraits Guidelines
Prior to ordering your pet portraits, be sure to have a good photograph of your furry family member following these tips:
- Camera Angle: Take the photo of your pet at eye level to the camera. This way they’ll match their new body.
- Resolution & Clarity: Photos taken on your phone or camera are perfect. Avoid taking photos from social media. Take the photo up close so there’s as much detail as possible.
Lighting: It is best not to take a photo in direct sunlight on a sunny day. Try to take your photograph in natural light during the day. - Cropping: Make sure your pet’s ears are in the frame and remove their collar so we can see their neck. Take the photo close-up, but not too close!
Our Lord of Pets Portrait
While many of the pet portraits are very realistic with the head of your pet in the portrait we decided on one of the artistic options that took the photo and created a semi-cartoon like look. This particular style is no longer available as they revamp their collection.
The process to create the photo was pretty easy. You simply upload your photo. It is highly suggested to follow the photo guidelines provided. Then you can select the size and what type of artwork you would like.

Our Chosen Photo
This is one of my favorite photos of Dino, and I felt it followed the photo guidelines well.

I supplied his name and purchased our Lord of the Pets portrait. After the order was received they created the artwork at which time I was able to review and approve or request any changes. Below was the proof we received.
Initial Proof

I felt the proof was a little too flat and didn’t like the coloring of the ears. I asked them to try to add additional color to his fur as he does have some browish colors in his fur. I asked for the ears to be more of the pink color and despite the way his eys looked in the photo I asked them to open them a little.
Final Product

As you can see they changed the photo quite a bit upon my request. I decide this photo had a decen likeness and approved it. Overall I am happy with the way the photo turned out. I’m not sure why they removed this option from their product list as I much prefer something like the above then turning my dog into a superhero or firefighter. I do really like the magazine covers as an option.
Actual Product

I do love seeing his cute face each morning!
