I signed my daughter up for Brain Chase early. Then I found out that she wanted to attend summer camp. My first thought was how is she going to be able to go to summer camp all day and still participate in Brain Chase. Then I realized that not only will both of these be stimulating different areas of her brain she is excited about both of them!
By registering for Brain Chase, your student is committing to do about five hours of focused online academic work each week for five weeks. Because the curriculum is web-based, he or she can complete the work whenever, wherever, and in whatever order he or she prefers.
When you think about it 5 hours of academics a week is nothing. My daughter was spending extra time this weekend reading to get ahead in class. So I’m pretty sure even after a day of bowling, swimming, and playing with her friends she will love a little bit of academic work to keep her brain in school mode.
I asked my daughter if she was excited about school being over (yesterday was the last day of school). She said kinda yes and kinda no. My daughter is one of those rare children that enjoys going to school. She loves interacting with her friends and she loves the challenge of learning new things. I think Brain Chase is going to continue to give her that challenge of learning during the summer.
Brain Chase Flexibility
Brain Chase is an online challenge, so you’ll need a high-speed Internet connection. It will work on the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari web browsers. You will be able to complete math, language and reading assignments on tablets. (For the writing assignments, it’s recommended to have a desktop or laptop available.)
With Brain Chase being an online program this means you can do it from anywhere as long as you have a good internet connection. If you are like us and have hot spot on your phone it can even be done in the car during a road trip.
If you are considering registering your child for Brain Chase and are worried about them having the time to complete you can learn more about the flexibility of the program through this post on the Brain Chase blog.
Brain Chase Premium Package
Alongside the regular pricing package for the first registration, and then $100 for each sibling), Brain Chase has now begun offering their premium pricing package ($249 for the first registration, and then $149 for each sibling). The premium package includes Brain Chase registration plus a Brain Chase-branded adventure backpack, a Brain Chase t-shirt and Sunstone of Cortés patch. Later in the summer, these items will be available for a la carte purchase.
My daughter is very excited about summer camp and just as excited about Brain Chase. She can’t wait to get the first package in the mail with her surprise goodies to help her on her way to finding the buried treasure. When I asked her what she was looking forward to the most she said the math activities (her favorite subject) and she is confident she is going to be the one to find the Sunstone!
