As with anything I set my mind too I give it 110% percent. Blogging hasn’t been any different. From my first design, my first review, and my first ambassador trip, blogging has become a part of who I am. I have spent years trying to find the balance between work, family, and blogging. At one point I would spend my lunch hour (and then some) trying to get posts done, interact with my readers on social media, and fine tune my blog. What I have learned is blogging at work isn’t always the best way to balance. Enjoy a little blog humor from a seasoned blogger.
Blog Humor : 5 Reason’s You Shouldn’t Blog at Work
It’s addictive
You may think you have the will power to stop when ever you want but don’t let that sense of confidence fool you. Soon you will be finding your self looking over your shoulder to see if anyone is watching you while you are checking out your favorite blogs, entering that giveaway for that pair of shoes you just have to have because they are free, or emailing your friend to find out where the best blog hops are.
You are being watched
Ok so maybe you aren’t actually being watched but you can be. Many of us use all kinds of tools to analyze our sites to see how many visitors, page views, or referrals we get each day. More then likely your employer can do the same. You know that guy that sits down their in that little closet called the IT room. He is bent over his computer right now saying “who can I watch today”, does anyone know what to get an IT guy? I’m feeling a little bribery coming on.
Your productivity plummets
It now takes you an hour to right a 5 minute email. “Dear Boss”, oh look I just got a comment on my blog I have to go see what they said. Sorry, “Dear Boss, while reviewing the latest”, I just got an email from my blogger friend. She said they are having a hop over at abc.com gotta go enter. Again “Dear Boss, while reviewing the latest report I found.” What? They are giving away a bounce house. I gotta have it, let me enter it real quick.
You forget to eat
Ok so how many of us have decided I’m going to get caught up and blog a little at lunch time. Only to find an hour has gone by and you forgot to even eat your lunch. Admit it I know you have done this!
I’m out of time
Ok so I could only think of 4 before my lunch time ran out. And maybe my lunch time was over about 15 minutes ago but Shh!! Don’t tell I’m only blogging, no one is watching, and I can get that 5 minute email typed up in 2! And I forgot to eat!
What do you find your self doing during your lunch time?
