Back in the day when I would make cookies with my mom we would pull out the flour, eggs, butter and make our cookies the old fashion way, from scratch. These days I often opt for time saving products because if I can’t say it enough, “There is never enough time in the day!” So when Honey and I make cookies we like to purchase cookie mix like those from Betty Crocker. Just add a few ingredients and you have a sweet treat.
When the holidays approach Honey reminds me that we need to make cookies. We usually head to the store to pick up Betty Crocker Cookies mix and grab our cookie cutters and get to work. We usually wait until closer to Christmas to make our cookies for Santa but Honey got the cookie bug early so we decided to make some cookies for the family.

We browsed the 24 Days of Cookies Betty Crocker has graciously put together to give you a new cookie recipe each day. We decided to try the Cake Mix Goey Butter Cookies.
The reason we picked this Betty Crocker Cookies recipe is because it was unique as it uses cake mix and my son who doesn’t really do the cookie thing LOVES yellow cupcakes and cake. The cookies were very easy to make. The only part that was a little tough was trying to roll the dough into a 1″inch ball and coat with powdered sugar. It is not really “dough” and more a cake batter so we found using a spoon and just dusting it with the powdered worked great. This was one of the delicious sweet treats we found in the 24 Days of Cookies.
Gooey Butter Cookies
The Betty Crocker Cookies turned out GREAT! I couldn’t wait for my son to give them a try. When he came home from work my daughter met him at the door with the cookies. I gave one a try and he LOVED them. They were definitely a hit. Even better was we were able to pick up the Betty Crocker Mix at a great price by using our coupon.
