World records of any kind have always fascinated me. When I was younger, the Guinness Book of World Records was one of my favorite reads. I enjoyed flipping through the pages and perusing the interesting, strange, and some downright “out there” records. Some of them include largest male afro, largest usable golf club, even shortest living cat – which is 5.25 inches tall by the way. Even with the craziest of records, I was always especially interested in the food category such as most juice extracted from grapes in one minute by stomping on them or that the largest chocolate candy sculpture weighed 589.5 pounds. That’s a lot of chocolate!
Did you know there is a world record for the Longest Team Barbecue Marathon? Well, there is and the record was previously held by England, but the Ball Park brand was determined to bring it back to the United States! On August 13th, Ball Park brand, reclaimed the Guinness World Record for the Longest Team Barbecue Marathon! The event took place in New York City and Finest Grillathon winners, Andrew Battistelli and Susan Bulloch, were joined by Food Network chef Tyler Florence. They spent 34 hours and 35 minutes grilling more than 3,000 Ball Park Park’s Finest Hot Dogs. Check out the recap video featuring highlights from the event and tell us how you would have kept going for 34 hours! What do you do when you have an abundance of hot dogs after a marathon grilling session? You donate them to City Harvest, a food rescue organization. I love how a record was beaten and a charity was helped at the same time.
You can elevate any grilling experience with Ball Park Park’s Finest hot dogs because they are made with 100 percent beef. They contain no artificial preservatives, flavors, colors or fillers. There are also no nitrates or nitrites added to these premium beef hot dogs. They are available in these five bold varieties:
- New Jalapeno Cheddar

Of course, learning of the new World record got me thinking about how varied hot dog toppings can be. Using premium seasoning and infused with bold flavors, Ball Park Park’s Finest hot dogs are delicious, even with minimal toppings. I personally love them on top of a soft bun with a sprinkling of cheese and onion. I went on a search to see how other people top their hot dogs and found some very interesting combinations.
