So how, you may ask, does the Litter-Robot know when to clean. The Litter-Robot can detect when your cat is inside. Once your cat leaves the Litter-Robot counts down allowing the litter to clump before it begins cleaning. (Note: It is important that the cat litter you use is self-clumping and the Litter-Robot litter is recommended.) As the unit rotates the sifting happens separating the clean litter from the clumps, dropping the waste in a carbon-filtered drawer. It then returns to its upright normal position and the cycle begins again. You then empty the waste in the drawer as needed.
