2014 Kia Sorento Test Drive Review
Its been a while since hubby and I have had the opportunity to test drive a new car. However when we knew we were going to be traveling up north to Universal Studios Orlando we figured it would be a great time to test out a new car. Some time ago we had the chance to test drive the 2013 Kia Sorento and I absolutely loved it. So when I was asked if I wanted to test drive the 2014 Kia Sorento jumped at the chance.
One of the things I love about the 2014 Kia Sorento is the third row seating. This is one feature that we do not currently have in any of our cars and with three children it is such and advantage. My husband and I went to get my oil changed this past week and I couldn’t help but look at the cars on the lots. I found myself gravitating towards the larger SUV’s with the extra seating. There are times when one of the boys would love to bring a friend (or girlfriend) somewhere and we just can’t all fit in the car since our cars currently only seat five people.
Favorite Features 2014 Kia Sorento
Push Button Start – My husband has this feature on his own car but I do not. I know it is a little thing and really what is the difference between turning a key and using a push button start right? Well consider it just one of those cool things that I love!
Heated Steering Wheel – I will admit that we don’t often really need heated anything in South Florida but when everyone up north is sitting in 30 degree weather and I”m freaking out because it is 60 degrees….let’s just say this whimp loves the heated steering wheel to warm her hands!
Blind Spot Light – This is not only a cool feature but definitely a safety feature as well. Any time we want to switch lanes we look in our rear view mirror and turn our heads to check the road behind. The little light that glows lets you know immediately there is a car in your blind spot and warns you not to turn or switch lanes. This is a great feature to have on any car and I think all cars should come with this feature automatically as it may prevent many accidents.
Dual Heated Seats – This goes hand in hand with the steering wheel. My daughter said there was also a heated seats button in the back of the 2014 Kia Sorento and she was giddy with the idea of warming her seat. This is the girl that refuses to wear long sleeves or a jacket outside.
Set Your Seat – This is a great feature for us because usually my husband drives his car and my husband and I drive my car. Usually if we need to go anywhere or have the kids we drive my car so with my husbands 6′ 1″ frame he needs to move the seat when he gets in. Having a preset button that will move the seat to the desired position before he gets in the car (or I) is an awesome and very useful feature.
AC outlet – I just thought this was pretty cool to have an outlet to plug in a device. Not a usb outlet but your normal electrical plug. This is great if you need to charge up your computer or hey maybe you are at a tailgate party and need to mix a drink and need a blender, who knows what you can use it for!
Other Cool 2014 Kia Sorento Features
In addition to the third row seating and features listed above are many other features we loved that are not pictured. I love that there are air vents throughout the car. So it isn’t only the passengers in the front that are benefiting from the cool air. Their are vents in both the back seating and the third row seating. The third row seating can be one or two seats which is great if you need only one seat and still need the trunk room.
There are also charging stations so to speak in the back of the car. If you have the electrical adapter you can charge your device which is great when you have teenage and even an 8 year old that may need to charge an iPod or iPad. The 2014 Kia Sorento came with Bluetooth which is a must for me I like to listen to audiobooks and music I keep on my phone. I also enjoyed the net in the back that does allow you to store groceries even when using the third row seating (pictured below).
The Kia Sorento Found Me Gas
First I suggest you don’t do what I often do and that is let the gas level get so low your car is telling you to get gas. My car will currently tell me when I have 50 miles left before I will run out. I guess I just get so busy and am thinking of other things that I don’t always look at the gas level. I found that not only will the 2014 Kia Sorento tell you you are running low on gas…
It will also find you the closest gas stations…
So with all these features and how smart this car is (telling me where to get gas) I have to say my opinion is nothing but positive. In fact, even before test driving the 2014 Kia Sorento I already knew I loved the Sorento. I’m currently itching to purchase a new car and would totally consider this for my next purchase.
